{"id":58,"date":"2007-06-20T06:23:40","date_gmt":"2007-06-20T15:23:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.talus-and-heavner.com\/blog\/2007\/06\/20\/fathers-day-in-haines\/"},"modified":"2025-09-06T03:19:23","modified_gmt":"2025-09-06T03:19:23","slug":"fathers-day-in-haines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.talus-and-heavner.com\/blog\/?p=58","title":{"rendered":"Father&#8217;s Day in Haines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the great bike ride fun (see previous blog entry), we enjoyed the post-race dinner, and then searched out a quiet camping spot.\u00a0 We went out to the <span class=\"boldbodytext\"><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dnr.state.ak.us\/parks\/units\/haines.htm#chilkoot\">Chilkoot Lake State Recreation Site<\/a> and found a really great spot.\u00a0 After sleeping in a bit, we woke up, had coffee and hot chocolate, then started packing up.\u00a0 Carrie finished this up while Torsten and Matt went down to the lake to fish and do some father\/son bonding on Father&#8217;s Day.\u00a0 Carrie came down and joined us after a bit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/talus-and-heavner.com\/im\/gallery\/2007\/200706Bike\/imgs\/IMG_2761.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/talus-and-heavner.com\/im\/gallery\/2007\/200706Bike\/imgs\/IMG_2761.jpg\" height=\"345\" width=\"458\" \/><\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/talus-and-heavner.com\/im\/gallery\/2007\/200706Bike\/imgs\/IMG_2765.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/talus-and-heavner.com\/im\/gallery\/2007\/200706Bike\/imgs\/IMG_2765.jpg\" height=\"352\" width=\"456\" \/><\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We have some great fishing movies, but I still have to compress those for posting.\u00a0 In the meantime, enjoy this still shot (and I&#8217;ll post a bunch of movies as a separate blog entry).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/talus-and-heavner.com\/im\/gallery\/2007\/200706Bike\/imgs\/IMG_2747.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/talus-and-heavner.com\/im\/gallery\/2007\/200706Bike\/imgs\/IMG_2747.jpg\" height=\"640\" width=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We went into Haines and had some &#8220;famous&#8221;
