I attempted to do the Jemez Mountain Trail Run 50 mile.
Cerro Grande was too Grande for me this year. I bailed out at the Pajarito aid station and did 28.7 miles (with 7,900 ft up and 7,445 ft down). At least distance wise, I like metric — 45.9 km!
It was a perfect, beautiful, fantastic day for a run:

Please, please, please tell me that is dirt on your toes and not bruising.
95% dirt. I don’t think I will loose any toenails, but we’ll see…
@ Matt – @ years ago I ran down the Grand Canyon (then had to climb out during the same day) massive toenail loss.
Wow, them is some rugged feet, dude. I couldn’t do that run. Not even.
ooooo,,,it hurts just to look at this photo,,hope you are ok,,,!!
toenails, or not you are right. Enough! Good job!
You need to dip those toes into some salt water…’any trips to Florida planned?
I do have some very (un)-nice blisters on the bottom of my feet, so I’m hobbling a bit.. Vickie- ouch! Are both you & Paul doing the Boulder Bolder next weekend? If so, good luck, and best wishes for getting home with all toenails! Ron, I actually have a crazy quick trip to the Chesapeake Bay area — I’ll just be there Tues. I wish we could connect, but I’m tied up the whole time (I may not even have time to dip my feet in the water..)
Proud of your effort!
Way to go Matt! Take care of those feet!
